Riddle was expected to win the Men’s Royal Rumble this past Saturday night in St. Louis, according to reports.
WWE changed its plans for The Rumble multiple times in the week leading up to the big event, but PWInsider says that Riddle was the favourite to win the whole contest until Brock Lesnar was chosen as the winner.
There was a push for hometown hero Randy Orton to win The Rumble as well, but Riddle was still the favourite until Lesnar was chosen.
Riddle was the 27th elimination, thrown out by Lesnar, in the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match. During the match, he and Orton eliminated Big E and RAW Tag Team Champion Otis, giving him a total of two eliminations.
