For the majority of the main event, Edge and Reigns match went brutal. At one point, referee Charles Robinson was knocked out, and the new SmackDown Tag Team Champions were crowned. The Usos attempted to intervene, but were attacked and chased away by The Mysterios, the previous victors. Edge appeared to have the Crossface locked on Reigns until Seth Rollins entered the ring and released the hold with a kick to the face.
As the match progressed, Rollins exited with a smile on his face. When Rollins came to the apron, Edge had turned it around and was going to finish off Reigns. Edge kicked him to the floor, but Reigns capitalised on the distraction by hitting Edge with a Spear for the pin and the victory.
After the match, Rollins stormed the ring and bashed up on Edge before squaring off against Reigns. Rollins yelled at Reigns about how he should’ve been in the ring instead of Edge, but Edge assaulted them both and they fell to the floor. The Edge vs. Rollins confrontation raged on in the audience, with Rollins being escorted to the back. Reigns then seized the microphone and declared that the entire world now recognises him.
