Numerous previously released superstars have signed deals to return to the promotion since Triple H assumed leadership of WWE‘s talent and creative departments, and more are reported to be on their way in. The latter group now includes former WWE champion Braun Strowman, whose name has reportedly been brought up internally in regards to a potential comeback, according to fightfulselect.com. The article emphasized that this simply means that Strowman has been mentioned as a potential candidate for WWE, not that he is making a comeback.
After signing a lucrative multi-million dollar, multi-year contract that was significantly greater than most people were getting as a result of him playing “hardball” during negotiations, Strowman was released more than a year ago as part of WWE’s at the time continuing budget cuts. Strowman has only occasionally competed after his release, maybe as a result of his previous criticism of independent wrestlers. People who have seen him, however, have noted that Strowman appears to be in top condition—possibly even better than during his time with WWE.
