The WWE Universal Title Matchup between WWE Universal Champion “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns and Seth “Freakin” Rollins was teased for the 2022 WWE Royal Rumble Event in the closing segment of last Friday night’s episode of WWE SmackDown, when two of the company’s top stars had a face-off, with Seth “Freakin” Rollins laughing. This follows WWE official Adam Pearce’s promise that Reigns’ Royal Rumble opponent would be revealed by the end of SmackDown.
The match would then be made official for the Royal Rumble on last night’s RAW show, with Rollins announcing the match and promising to win the match, which he refers to as a Brother vs. Brother match. Seth “Freakin” Rollins will make a cameo on Friday’s SmackDown to continue his storyline with The Tribal Chief ahead of their Royal Rumble match.
The 2022 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event will take place from The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, January 29th.
