During the most recent episode of the Kurt Angle Show, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle discussed the WrestleMania 38 segment between Vince McMahon and Stone Cold Steve Austin, as well as the notorious Chairman’s stunner, dubbed the “worst of all time” by many. In the highlights below, you can see what the Olympic Hero had to say on the matter.
Austin was irritated by McMahon’s handling of the Stunner:
“I gave him a hug and wished him luck.” I didn’t see him again after that. I’m sure he was irritated by Vince and the manner he handled the Stunner. Austin was chugging these drinks and you could see his lips say, ‘That motherf***er,’ so it was wild. Vince’s timing was simply terrible. He had no idea when the jump was going to happen. He had no idea where you’d go down, up, and down. He just assumed you’d go up and down, and he didn’t expect the boot to the belly from Austin; he assumed he’d just stun him.
The situation is described as a disaster:
“When Steve kicked him, Vince dropped on his knees… Steve had to pull him up and then try to grab him, but Vince backed up into the ropes and bounced off of them. It was a complete disaster.”
